Altair Signs Agreements

Altair Nanotechnologies Inc. has reportedly
signed confidentiality agreements
with two of the largest U.S.-based pigment
manufacturers. These two companies
are currently evaluating the potential
use of Altair’s patented pigment
processing technology, according to the
Reno, NV-based company.
Altair has also entered into a service
agreement with one of the largest
materials companies in the Asia-Pacific
region. Under the terms of the agreement,
Altair will determine the suitability
of this company’s concentrates to
produce titanium dioxide using Altair’s
process. If the exercise is successful and
the company decides to proceed with
the project, the final phase will be the
licensing of Altair’s technology.
The company claims the technology
will revolutionize the production of
white titanium dioxide from llmenite
ore concentrates. In addition to eliminating
potential health risks, the
process can reduce operating costs
associated with the current production
process, according to Altair.
